Motorcycle helmet shell size?

Does the shell size of motorcycle helmets mean that only the shell itself, or the styrofoam, for example, is only available in 2 sizes.

Which would mean that the rest is controlled by the padding size? Or does the styrofoam always change depending on head size.

I'm asking because my motorcycle helmet starts to feel tight on longer rides, and I'd like to get the padding for the larger helmet. However, if the styrofoam shape changes with each helmet size, it wouldn't help, and I'd have to look for a new helmet.

Does anyone have any idea?

Let’s say a helmet model has 2 shell sizes:

  1. S-M
  2. L-XL

Then you can, press the helmet at size L, buy the XL pole. Same with S and M.

However, if M presses it, you have a problem because in this case you need the larger shell.

Because I’ve inquired myself in detail, and my helmets also look closely at the shell sizes.

My Arai, for example, sat perfectly on the skull, but the cheek pads were just too narrow. So I got thicker the number smaller (same bowl size) and then the helmet sat perfectly.

If possible, I buy helmets with at least 3 shell sizes and upholsteries that can be exchanged. So you can adjust the helmet perfectly. Shoei makes advertising for his helmets.

Hello,

there are both different outer shell sizes and EPS inner shell sizes.

It can e.g. B. that a helmet two outer shells
XS-M and L-XXL has
and more inner shells, for example
XS
S-M
L-XL
XXL

There are helmets there fit all upholstery in the helmet or there are different strengths per size. You’d better ask when you make it.

With two shell sizes it is usually so that the upholstery of XS-M and of L-XXL fit.
