Hello,

I myself also play piano and know the feeling too well. I usually play a song that I played a long time ago and found really nice. Mostly, the motivation comes back slowly and I can continue where I stopped last time. Otherwise, I set a certain period of time and put my phone somewhere else in time. That’s how I somehow force myself.

I hope I could help you.

Best regards, Hannah

Hey!

I would advise you to practice only 5-10 min each day, especially after teaching, so that your knowledge is strengthened.

Imagine an alarm clock or hold on hard times.

If you practice for a long time in the week or even take care of it, so that you can not perform any performance in the class it reduces motivation.

If you’re willing to play longer then do that, but don’t force yourself!

Play songs you don’t have to practice and you like.

If you don’t like to do something, you don’t have any motivation. Now the question is whether piano games must belong to life – or not. Piano playing is in itself a hobby. If it doesn’t belong to what you’re enjoying, talk to the one who asks you to play. It makes no sense to go surfing, play chess, sing songs or play piano if you don’t want to. Leisure should be filled with fun! Absolutely!

You don’t have to do a hobby on compulsion. Then just play when you’re after.

Put a goal, that’s the best motivation.

For example, a piece you want to be perfect, an upcoming competition or a concert.

The more you practice, the more motivated you are when you notice your steps.
