Film/photograph the subject of the cylinder?
Hello, I would like to capture a motif of a cylindrical coffee cup and put it on paper.
My idea would be to use single-image software on my phone (with a tripod) and put the cup on a rotating plate with angle divisions, taking a single image every few degrees and then combining them into one complete image.
Or a timed turntable and take a picture every 1, 2 or more seconds.
Before I try this, I'll ask the pros here whether this makes sense.
Thanks
Willy
Could work with panoramic function. However, because of the distortions in wide-angle recordings, I would rather take a tele with as large a distance as possible.
Thank you! I tried, but the phone makes panoramas only when it moves itself. But I wanted to turn the cup and photograph it.
I see. Then try to turn the phone around the cup. I’m sure it’s just a small part and I’m all around.
Would it be easier to find the motive somewhere on the Internet? Finally, there is a template of this for the printing press.
Make a photo and distort with gimp. That would have to go (but I haven’t done yet)
