Moths in storage containers/where do moths come from?

I wanted to get some plastic storage containers for my kitchen to put rice, etc., in, but my girlfriend said they would attract moths. She suggested I get glass storage containers instead.

How can moths get through there and where do moths come from anyway?

I had our muesli standing in a tightly sealed vessel longer and were actually mots in control. The moth eggs are already in the oat flakes when you buy them. So quickly consume before they develop.

that can't be… I don't think it's that way

From outside, I'd like to think they're coming. And yes, moths actually get through amazingly thin gaps. I used to have moth attack in the storage cabinet. They've made themselves wide in the muesli boxes. I still don't know how they manage to get in and out.

And believe me, you don't want moths… To get rid of the critters again takes several weeks with good means.

They're in there when you buy the muesli.

I don't know what rail you're on, but with me, muesli still consists of grain and, depending on the cereals, dried fruits or chocolate and not of insects.

Oh, what…

..even if it may have been different with you, moths often come to the house by shopping. Not as a finished moth but eggs or larvae waiting to slip into the muesli. Your muesli does not always consist of grain – sometimes there are small additives in it and it doesn't matter "on which rail you're on it" 😉

Too nice when people have a big mouth but at the same time have no idea.

If the moths were already in there when they were bought, they would have spread right after that with me. But jokes on you, the Mülsi has been in my closet for many weeks. So the moths definitely didn't get out.

Too nice when people have a big mouth but at the same time have no idea. Of course, moths come very often through the purchase of food directly into the house. I had it myself. Since then I have been acting on cracks, damage in the packaging. A few weeks ago, we had 4 moths at the supermarket on the flour palette – if I saw that, I don't buy flour there.

I got the same shit. Had a screw-glass, ie one-piece glass, full of moths… could have been fishing with them. I've never seen anything like that… they've been through my plastic cans…

really the hammer the stuff….

Had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, every day about 5-6 moths with the flyer and thereby leave stains on walls and ceiling 🙈. Now necessary to be deleted. They were in the muesli. Now fortunately by the plague.
