More money through two apprenticeships in the same company?

Hey, I'm starting my apprenticeship as a civil engineer (civil engineering specialist) at Strabag at the beginning of August. A friend who has been employed there for a long time as a construction machinist recommends that I also become a construction machinist after my two-year apprenticeship, because it involves less physical work (especially later in life).

Now my question is, assuming I complete both training courses, would I be able to demand more money later on? Or is that irrelevant? Thanks in advance!

If you're more qualified, you'll obviously earn more. But probably not double.

Ultimately, it depends on the position and what the boss can afford. You negotiate your salary. If someone else underbids you, you're out. It's that simple. If no one else can do what you can, you'll come out of the negotiation with a higher salary.

you will be paid according to the highest qualification, i.e. construction machinery operator, if you are also hired there
