Moped spark plug electrode broken – engine damage?
On my two-stroke moped, the spark plug electrode broke off while I was riding and fell into the engine compartment. Naturally, the moped wouldn't start after that. Since it's a two-stroke, it's possible that the electrode could have escaped from the engine compartment through the exhaust, and that wouldn't cause engine damage, right?
(Exhaust is connected below the engine compartment)
Have you ever had something like this? What is your opinion?
Screw the spark plug out and light in with a narrow LED lamp. Try by the lamp to see if you can catch the particle.
I guess it won’t stick up in the cylinder.
It would be better if you had such a cheap endoscope camera from the discounter.
This makes it even better to search without breaking everything.
You can also carefully bring the piston down (with hand at the kickstarter).
So you can look for giants.
Otherwise you’ll only be dismembered.
I’ve already tried to get it out with a magnet, but unfortunately without success.
I don’t think the part is magnetic.
You could plug a straw into the vacuum cleaner hose with an adapter. Maybe stick a thin flap in the hose and push around in the cylinder.
The rag so you can see if you have the part.
The adapter can be put into each other from empty toilet paper rolls. I do sometimes.
Hopefully, the part is simply flooded into the exhaust and has not caused any grooves in the cylinder.
Have the same spark plug again, the electrode is already magnetic, but I try the method too.
That would be the ideal case. Cylinder down and you see what’s going on.
Yes, however, I have the work anyway when it comes to engine damage (new cylinders and pistons cost 30€), so I thought that I would first try out whether it works and not get engine damage.
For 30€ there is only absolute garbage.
Is a China moped, the original cylinder and piston are not expensive
