Monitor acting up?

Good morning,
When I turn on my TV, which I turn on on my PC, my monitor turns on, but I can't connect it to my PC on its own. Both are connected to my PC via DisplayPort, and when I turn off the TV, the monitor turns off too. It's really strange, and I didn't clone them or anything…

Entertainment devices communicate via CEC. This turns on the TV when you turn on the Bluray Player, for example. Conversely, it turns off when you turn off the TV. For this purpose, at least the basic functions of the connected devices can be operated with the remote control of the television.

In the operating system you can set somewhere what the CEC does. Take a look at the BIOS if you can turn it off.

As a Linuxuser, I can’t tell you where exactly these settings are on Windows.
