Monitor no signal even though PC is booting?

Hello, I've built my new gaming PC and it boots up. Now I wanted to connect the monitor, but it can't find a connection to the PC via HDMI or DP. The monitor can find a connection to another device, so I'm guessing the PC is the problem. Any ideas?

The fans turn and light

It’s not an indication for a boat!

To clarify the term first:

Booting is the start of the operating system, which is the last thing that happens when starting a PC.

If your fans light, it’s just a hint that you get this power, that’s the first thing that happens when you start.

What you need to check now:

  • Look that the necessary power cables are stuck in the right sockets.
  • That the RAM is right in your slot
  • The graphics card is right in the slot
  • The CPU is right in the slot

Mainboards also have Debug LEDs to help with troubleshooting

You also connected the monitor to the graphics card. If you connect to the motherboard, the graphics card is free, as the graphics are processed by the processor’s graphics unit. If the processor doesn’t have such a thing, there’s no picture at all.

See if it’s connected to the graphics card
