Minijob and BAföG in a community of need as a student?
I'm 20 years old, a student, and receive student loans (BAföG). I also live in a community of need that receives student loans.
I wanted to look for a mini-job and wanted to ask if any of my salary would be credited toward my state benefits. I know that nothing is credited toward a simple mini-job, but what about student loans (BAföG)?
Since July 2023, children under 25 years of age may earn the pupils, azuubi or an hour, up to the level of the mini-job limit, without being counted on the need of the child.
In addition, further allowances for income from employment would be subject to paragraph 11 b SGB – ll.
It must be reported and detected at the Jobcenter and Bafög.
If you do a job, the flat-rate allowance of 100 Euros will be dispensed with for your bafög – that would normally be counted as a full income for your needs, as does the child benefit under 25 years of age, as long as you would need it to cover your own needs.
Unless this 100 euros, which are already included in the increased basic allowance for earnings, are not sufficient for your monthly expenses due to training.
For example, if you had high driving costs or you have to pay your semester fees, then you could additionally apply for proof of the amount over the 100 euros.
If BAföG is already covered, you would have to know the amount: 100 € mtl..
However, if additional income is obtained, these flat-rate 100 Euros are free of charge for the bafög – already in the basic amount under the SGB – ll according to paragraph 11 b of the SGB – ll or the increased basic allowance for earnings in the case of children under 25 years of age, the pupils, azuub or hour are included.
