Mines that only explode when the weight is removed?

Hey,

You know the scene from all the action movies where a soldier steps on a mine, hears the click, and then knows he's as good as dead because the mine will explode as soon as he steps off. I've always heard that this is bullshit because the mines explode as soon as the "trigger" is pulled, when the soldier steps on them. But are there any where it's just like in the movies, where the mine only explodes once the weight is off again?

Yes, there are so-called “footprinting mines” or “printing plate mines” which explode when the pressure on the triggering device is lifted, that is, when the person removes his foot from the printing plate. These types of mines are often used as a concealed weapon in asymmetric conflicts in which conventional forces fight against unconventional forces. They can be difficult to detect and disable and pose a serious danger to pedestrians, especially in areas with uncontrolled mine fields or conflict areas. It is therefore extremely important that persons living or working in such areas are aware of the risks and adhere to safety protocols in order to avoid injuries or deaths.

And what good is that when the mine is detonated when it is relieved? Which armed forces use such mines and wwr produces them?

An advantage of footprint mines is that they can often be used more specifically, since they are only triggered when a person comes directly onto them. This can reduce the risk that civilians or other undesirable targets are affected. In comparison to mines that explode at pressure, footprint mines can also be equipped with a so-called “self-destruction mechanism” which automatically makes them harmless after a certain time and thereby reduces the risk that they continue to cause damage after a conflict uncontrolled.

Presumably, I do not have access to the inventory:

  • General Dynamics
  • BAE Systems
  • Martin
  • Raytheon

In order to also influence other soldiers following the trigger of the mine, the German Wehrmacht had before the beginning of the 2nd. Let her infamous Springmine develop. This has thrown a blasting body into the height when triggered, which is then detonated in about 1.5 meters and has thrown steel balls through the area.

I never talked about that. The mine is only designed to explode only at a certain load, so that it cannot be triggered by animals, shocks or other potential triggers. The mine does not distinguish between friend and enemy. It is questionable whether the mine is capable of detonating at too large a load, which would allow it not to be detonated accidentally or intentionally by tanks or other heavy equipment. Overall, it’s hard to research something in the way that’s just military. Apart from that, such mines are hardly used, if at all. A further potential application is mines with delay, which may be able to eliminate a number of goals, namely not only those who follow it, but also someone who follows this person.

How can the mine see if a hostile soldier, a separate soldier, or a civilian occurs?

In order for a mine to destroy itself after a certain time, it does not have to be constructed so that it detonates only after a pressure relief.

Well, I have to say honestly, I don’t know if things explode sofrort, or only when you take the pressure away. but two things I know:

  1. Even if it really is that the miene only ignites when it comes to relieving, this is a Hollywood idea to make movies and series more exciting.
  2. If I developed weapons, I would make sure that the miene goes up directly under load, just to take my victims the chance to notice the click before it bursts and to keep the miene under load to get rid of it before it gets around.

it would be really new if there were mines that would not explode immediately. It would also make no sense to give someone the chance to get away. So to my knowledge, and after many visits by professionals in Kambotsha, is not known that there are such mines. It’s a mere Hollywood number, whoever thought it out. So respect for these beautiful landmines and hope not to get away. They’re to kill and hurt hard. Stay away and don’t be curious. Leave it to professionals…

Why would that be good? Of course, all mines detonate immediately when loaded with the necessary weight. Only the so-called jumping mines shoot a few fractions of seconds a blasting body in the height, which then detonates in about 1.5 meters and thereby spins away steel balls. As a result, the radius of the effective range is significantly increased, so that these mines not only endanger the one that occurs on it, but also all other persons within a radius of up to 50 meters.

In a Hollywood film, of course, a mine is better, which only threatens to detonate after a dismissal. This creates more tension for the viewer than a real mine that immediately kills the protagonist.
