Minced meat from 2015?

Hello everyone,

Since my freezer has now accumulated so thick ice that only a third of its capacity is usable, I decided to defrost it today. I found a plastic bag from the Edeka fresh food counter containing 500g of minced meat, which I had labeled Oct15. It had been chilled at -17 degrees Celsius throughout. Is it still edible? I'd hate to throw it away.

No rather not, especially if there is so much ice in the chest, the performance is often no longer so good.

With a 3-star freezer, you can start from about half a year at Hack, no longer.

I'm really very pain-free about durability, but there's also close to me.

A freezer without a star brings 0 degrees Celsius or slightly colder temperatures. It is only suitable for ice cubes.

* A star -6 degrees Celsius. Here frozen foods last up to a week.

** Two stars bring -12 degrees Celsius or colder. They are suitable for frozen foods that hold up to three weeks here.

*** Three stars bring at least cold -18 degrees Celsius. They are suitable for keeping frozen food for several months. This depends on the food itself.

**** Four stars also bring at least -18 degrees Celsius. You have enough power to freeze food yourself. Depending on the type of food, this lasts several months.

No, it's too old to freeze meat for more than 6 months. A lot you can eat forever but Meat I only eat smoked a few days after expiry date as it is very hot

No, it's too old to freeze meat for more than 6 months.

Insane comment, "Ne" what? To my " No?"

That would mean you think it would still be good, which does not fit the rest of the sentence.

I don't write anything about more than 6 months.

We're talking about freezers, what the Consumption postponed date back. See my answer. (One Loss date is not available anyway! Only Consumption Date and Minimum durability Date.)

No, you can't eat that anymore.

throw away, will certainly not taste edible anymore, the fat (in the meat) will eventually become rancid at the temperatures.

the freezer escape every half year and the minced meat prefers to throw away that is already 8 years old

I would actually throw it away. that's been frozen for too long.

You can still eat.

It's time to calculate food poisoning.

In an analysis, it will surely still be enjoyable. You've found decades of canned food on the North and South Poles that were still enjoyable.

But only in the thought of 8 year old meat, I would dispose of it.

From such an unhygienic chest, I would definitely not eat such old hack.

No more eating, raw minced meat should not be frozen for more than 3 months.

8-year-old chopped meat….

I wouldn't even offer that to my dog

Achwasweissich

Nope, that can go. Longer than 1 year I would pick up meat, even not at -18°C.
That's why I go every couple of months and look through the drawers to sort out what's nothing more or has to go away soon. Then I'll be able to get some ice out of here and get some time.

If it's still before…

Get it up, get it through! What should happen if you find a mammoth in the eternal ice, you can't do that either because the scientists are tearing around wings of the DNA.

It is no longer suitable for tartar, probably no problem!

I wish you a gate!

Yeah, you can eat it. At such low temperatures it can always be consumed.

Flavors is another question. Here I do not think I mean taste, but whether health hazards threaten

There are meat types, especially minced meat, but also fish, which should not be stored for more than half a year despite a continuous cooling chain, because the aromas are lost, among others.

EnisLatskin

Especially with continuous cooling chain, which was present and guaranteed
