Are rental cars significantly cheaper with Check24 than with direct providers?
Hello everyone,
I plan to rent a car for a trip from May 23rd to May 26th.
Of course, I did some research to find the cheapest offer and then came across something during my search that made me suspicious.
Using the comparison portal Check24, the luxury station wagon class (e.g. Mercedes C-Class) costs me around €320 with Avis.
If I look directly at Avis, I end up with around €530 for the same vehicle class with identical specifications (unlimited km, no excess, etc.).
I've read through everything several times and the specifications are definitely 1:1 the same.
How does this huge price difference come about? If the price difference were just a few euros, I wouldn't have been suspicious, but we're talking about a difference of about 65%.
Since I don't want to fall into a "trap" and don't want to pay extra later, I'm wondering if the offer via Check24 is reputable.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

If you look out for free at Avis, they will offer you a pharmacy price. With customer card and/or bonus program, this should look different.
On a comparison page like Check24 not the regular customers are looking for a prudent audience. They can’t come with the pharmacy price, otherwise they are very fast at Sixt or elsewhere. So you have to make a competitive offer there.
Thank you for the information!
does it mean that I can book with a calm conscience about Check24 without waiting for me in the aftermath?
I don’t see a problem.
