Microsoft employee calling?

Yesterday, I received a message on my laptop saying my computer was infected with viruses. It stopped working for a while. A specialist said to turn it off and restart it, and then it worked again. Today, an employee called us—a foreign voice—and said there were viruses on the computer. I told him that wasn't true and that I would call the police, but then he hung up. I'm over 70, did I do it right, and what could possibly happen next? Thanks to the experts.

Never calls Microsoft from you. Getting the Masche so access to your PC is well known.

However, I wouldn’t say any threats, but I’d just put up (the half-set “… but use Linux” can also cause miracles if you want the caller to put up from itself;-))

That was right. If a Pc has a virus, it will not be displayed. Did you get the whole left of the corner? Then it’s definitely wrong.

If such a deceiver is convincing, let the name be given, put up, call the real hotline of the company and let you pass to Mr./Mrs. XY. If the person isn’t working there you’re going to deal with a scam when the person is there and knows what it’s all about

Today, an employee- foreign voice- told us there were fours on the computer.

Yeah… the game has been making these scams for many years. And unfortunately, there are still people who fall on it.

No, Microsoft does not call users if they did not explicitly ask for a call back from the Microsoft hotline.

No, these “employees” can NOT know if there is malware on your computer. Because your computer does not report it to MS or any other company. Your AV software reports the DIR on the screen.

I told him it wasn’t true, and I’m going to sound the police, then I’ve been set up

So the statement was enough to leave you alone. But it wouldn’t do anything. The callers usually sit abroad where you can’t grab them from here….

I have done it right

Absolutely right!

Microsoft calls are fake, and want to rip you off, so you did everything right.

If it’s related to the virus, you could have become a Ramsomware attack that might block your computer and encrypt your data.

Evtl. helps a complete virus scan to find the malware.

In short, I guess everything was right.

Microsoft usually doesn’t call, at least not because of that.
That’s always cheating and they just want your money.

You just can’t get that.
I think you can block something like that, but then you wouldn’t reach any more calls from people where the number is not transmitted.

You know your usual callers, would that be bad for you?

Since this is usually Indian call center, it doesn’t matter.
