Metronome and loop – how does it work on stage?
Hello! We're a band consisting of bass, guitar, drums, and vocals, playing rock with metal influences. Edit: Two vocals…
Now we have the problem that some of the songs have a light guitar accompaniment and some have a solo. Some songs also have a multi-track synth accompaniment.
Now we'd like to play live, but we don't know how to do it on stage. We simply left out the parts in the rehearsal room, but it doesn't sound as good live…
What are the possibilities to still play these missing parts live?
I always see the main problem as being the tempo, how a metronome can be heard by the musicians—because the drums don't always play at the same time. However, I have no experience with monitoring…
Can anyone help me?
Hi.
the click track (Metronom) could be a bit difficult to realize for you: for this you need so-called in-ears, which each of you should wear. Then both the monitoring and the click track are running. If you were to do this through a loudspeaker, it destroys the “Illusion” a bit, or it is something strange for the listener to hear it all the time. However, this option is very cost-intensive, yet difficult to implement for you. Therefore, a tip from me as a drummer: instead of the metronome, the drums take over, that is, if it doesn’t play, it still plays the neighborhoods on the hi-hat, that is 1 2 3 4. That doesn’t have to be so stressed that it should only serve as an orientation for you.

Thank you for the valuable tips! 🎶
Sure, no problem:) Good luck!
Thank you.
You should find a suitable keyboarder 🎹 and find !
Ah, the synth is less the problem. The singer can do that for not, but the second guitar is problematic – because the second guitar does not have much to do and that has always led to frustration according to experience. Whatever I can understand. And I want to keep the troops as small as possible, the test room is quite small and a team building is simpler – because we don’t see each other so often.
