Methylphenidate and alcohol?
Hi
I had an exam today, and I took methylphenidate before it, and afterward I drank a small 0.25 liter beer just to celebrate. I know you're not supposed to do that, but I didn't experience any side effects. Still, I'm worried I've caused long-term damage to my body. Does anyone know anything about this?
Lg
The side effects can occur more strongly and certain symptoms that are not so noticeable. If luck did not notice anything really special, at the low dose alcohol would have to have taken a proper dose of methylphenidat if it were used to make the body feel strong.
Do not make regular, but is known to be as much as no one in some things. So if this isn’t repeated more often, nothing will come after that. Depending on the preparation, the drug acts between 4-12h
You didn’t harm your body in the long term. I don’t want to say it nicely, but as a one-time thing, it’s really to neglect.
What could happen in the long term if you run this mixed consumption? I don’t want to do it again, but the answer brings me to the question.
If there is no allergy/incompatibility, these amounts should not be “long-term”.
I do not know whether there are special interactions here that make chronic mixing much more dangerous than chronic consumption of one of the two substances would have taken.
If the methylphenidate has been taken as prescribed and if you have doubts with the attending physician, the risks associated with it are comparatively low.
I think that more frequent and, above all, high alcohol consumption can make sick in the long term is well known.
As recommended by the Artzt, I take only 30 MG distributed throughout the day. The alcohol leads to an increased plasma concentration of methylphenidate. So, in the case of chronic mixing, you would permanently take too high a dose or not? I’m just interested in that. Find Pharmacology very interesting.
I know what can happen but I have not found out about the long-term consequences.
