Strange Flightradar24?
Hello everyone,
For some time now, three or possibly more wind turbines have been permanently listed on flightradar24 without any changes.
How did the operators manage to get their wind turbine onto flightradar24?
How can the same object with the same name appear three times on an aircraft radar? I would understand Windrad1, winrad2, winrad3, but all three are called winrad, and aircraft can't have the same name on the radar three times.
And does all this even make sense? No airplane flies low enough to hit the wind turbine. Besides, wind turbines are already very well lit and marked at such high altitudes.
Thank you;)
Quite simply: The wind wheel sends transponder data (so-called ADS-B data) to prevent collisions with aircraft. In fact, aircraft and, above all, helicopters in military air traffic occasionally fly at the level of the wind turbines. What identification these wind turbines emit is due to the coding of the transponder.
If any of the data sources used by FR24 are in place.
