Mercedes C 203 W trunk frozen?

Hello,

The trunk of my Mercedes (2003) is frozen. I tried using a bit more force, but it didn't work. Now my question is, can this damage the trunk? And a small light is now lit in the car, indicating that the trunk is supposedly open.
Can this drain the battery overnight and how do I get the trunk open again?

Thank you!

It can’t damage the trunk. The only thing that can take the damage is the seals between body and trunk flap.

To open the trunk, you either have to wait for milder temperatures or open the trunk with strength, there is nothing happening.

When the trunk is open, the seals lubricate with a very thin film Vaseline, that maintains the rubber and prevents renewed freezing.

The lamp can actually empty your battery. So I would advise you either to lean on the trunk from outside to close it completely or to open it with a lot of power.

With alcohol. It is best to mix alcohol with detergent.
