Opinion of the day: Should e-scooter rental be banned (like in Paris)?

E-scooter rentals have been banned in Paris. In a referendum on Sunday, 89 percent of the population voted in favor of abolishing rental scooters.

https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/europa/paris-e-scooter-ban-101.html

Even here in Germany, there is repeated criticism of e-scooter rentals. Among other things, it is argued that the scooters cause too many accidents and that operators park them in such a way that they block driveways, sidewalks, and bike paths.

What do you personally think of the scooters? Do you use them yourself, or do they bother you?

The scooters themselves are not the problem, but the concept of what is behind it and what appeals to a specific customer circle.

It is precisely the possibility to simply stand/loose things where it is a popular one that makes them attractive to younger users.

Say…: Convenient on smartphone tip, after that it doesn’t matter what happens to that thing.

If you were to force the users to simply bring things to the next larger road crossing, it would probably not be reasonable for the majority of users and they would no longer use them.

Because I absolutely agree. Generation ADHD is still being promoted here in its disorders, instead of being turned into barriers.

I think the principle of the things is really cool, but I’m annoying when they’re standing around. I wouldn’t be a pity, but if it didn’t, it wouldn’t be a huge loss.

Yes, they’re just as annoying as lying dog piles.

  1. Visually impaired and elderly people have already stumbled over the scooters. https://www.braunreinr-zeitung.de/braunschweig/article234610217/Braunschweig-Blinde-stuerzt-ueber-falsch-geparkten-E-Scooter.html
  2. A lot of nonsense is made with these devices
  3. I’ve been ruffled twice. Once on the walkway and once (from two heavily oversized girls on a vehicle) in the pedestrian zone, where vehicles are generally prohibited.

Five dead and more than 2000 injured were registered by the police in accidents with e-scooters last year. 386 persons were seriously injured, the Federal Statistical Office. In 1907 minor injuries suffered.

It’s annoying that they’re just being shut down somewhere in towns. They impede strollers, people with roller shutter etc.

There should be a lock and the cost watch should continue until they are reset at a checkout point.

Apparently, users can only be relied on through the wallet.

As long as this is not possible: Prohibition.

I have nothing against the moving parts… But the rental is based on impossible conditions: take and leave somewhere. This is then simply put on cycle paths or worse: thrown as a stumbling trap..

If a rental is already: then only with fixed places.

Hello,

I am interested in the area myself and also working on solutions for these problems.

In the end, not the scooters are the problem, but the user. The role providers should also set themselves the goals of solving these problems.
The concept and the idea of the scooters I find

There are no scooters with us, we’re too small.

but if I look at this as if you are a lot off the road, and when the scooters have to clean up before they get into the entrance, etc., I can imagine that in some cities they are simply forbidden, or even completely

Things seem to be practical anyway.

Also the durability of the LeiScooters is not bad. This is clearly recognizable, because such a cheap building market scooter would still be over the same day in this way.

Only the operators (as in the case of rental cars) have to use much harder. Means: If the scooter is damaged, the new user and the previous user must now speak and answer.

If the scooter is parked in an unsafe manner, the last user will be liable. (Not the operators, but the users put things so crazy. And then the Vandals, the Scooters cross at night and throw them around.)

Why do the loan scooters finally have their GPS?

Education now only takes place with punishment.

If it were to be said today that only 30 km/h can be taken in all the villages, but there is no punishment in excess, then I would not stick to it either. (in spite of)

Not only do I care, but obviously also the majority of voters in Paris. Over 92% have not participated in the vote. That Mrs Hidalgo, on this basis, does not want to extend the contracts with the rental companies (no, the vehicles are not yet banned, as the question suggests), I think they are extremely marginal.

The scooters don’t really bother me what’s bothering me is the handling of the parts.

Why so a part of the cross over the bike or footpath must be turned off, why must this be in the park.

Here should be consistently enforced

Since the young heiopengs and other hints usually drive like the counters, the parts should be removed again.

The rental actually less, he would have to
have better control over it.

But some users, you should get a ticket
get and some a total ban !

Sometimes man is guilty of it!

… but whether they have to be banned?

At the moment people are driving around uncontrollably and just leave them in the most impossible places. You should change that.

I don’t use things, nor was I involved in accidents. Eyes on the road. Not always on the phone. Next, bicycles will be banned because they block the streets. Poor car drivers, real.

There is no such Ùnfug in our decent city.

They would be stolen and sold in parts.
