My period is late?

(Sorry for the name) I haven't had my period for 47 days, and I'm still a virgin, don't suffer from any mental health issues, and haven't experienced any weight changes???? (F16)

Hello

The displacement or absence of the period may have many reasons:

  • Stress
  • Medicine
  • Underweight or overweight
  • Much sport
  • Weight increase or decrease
  • Changes in eating behaviour
  • Changed sleep rhythm
  • Travel
  • Diseases (influenza, gastric intestine etc.)
  • gynecological diseases
  • mental changes (separation, miscarriage, death of a loved one)
  • Food or nutrient deficiency
  • Menopause / alternating years
  • (pregnant / birth)
  • Dropping the pill (up to 6 months after)
  • new contraceptives
  • Pille after
  • Hormone imbalance
  • too little or too much sleep
  • etc.

It sometimes only takes a small change in everyday life so the period shifts that is quite normal. If she doesn’t come for 3 months then you should go to the gynecologist, even with severe or long-lasting irregularity, a visit to the gynecologist is advisable.

I hope I could help you 🙃

Good luck 🍀

In young years, it may take time for a cycle to become regular.

It’s not worrying.

As long as you do not have too little body fat content, are underweight, live low stress and feed you healthy, your period should come back.

If you’re unsure, make a gynecologist appointment for advice.

Good for you.

Then make an appointment with the gynecologist to settle this.

No cycle is carved in stone and even with an adult woman is usually only little “regular”.

Unfortunately, it is wrongly taught at school that a “regular” cycle should be 28 days. That’s just an average.

In times when many women take the pill and thus have a uniform “cycle”, it is quickly forgotten that it is artificially produced and not the norm.

Hardly a woman works like a Swiss clockwork and only 3.3% of all women have picture book cycles, which on a year only vary by a maximum of 3 days. The cycle lengths vary by more than 8 days within one year by far over half of all women.

This is not unusual and a menstruation cycle of 21 to 35 days is still considered to be regular in medical terms.

The period can also be postponed or even completely eliminated by psychological or physical strains such as stress, travel, performance, upcoming important decisions or family events.

What happens by such stressors on a hormonal level is not yet fully enlightened. However, one assumes that such situations can trigger malfunctions in the nervous system that affect the regulation of the hormones. But that has no disease value.

However, if 3 menstrual periods are absent or you have less than 9 periods a year, you should let sick causes be clarified by the female doctor.

Happy for you!

There can always be irregularities. In case of doubt, you can call your female doctor and ask.
