My budgie doesn't fly anymore. Has he forgotten how to fly?

My budgie is about 5-6 years old now and hasn't been able to fly properly since he was 2. He's doing really well, though, and he's active! He has a little playground where he runs and jumps. Recently, he's been trying to take off, but can't get any higher than he can jump. Could he have forgotten how to fly? Can I teach him again?

I don’t think he’ll be able to fly. But there’s something wrong with the wings. The feathers look so shattered. I think that’s why he can’t fly. But what is the cause of these feathers can only tell you a vet. This can have various causes.

The waves on the picture cannot fly properly because the large plumage required for this is hardly present.

The shown waves are sick!!

In addition to a severely disturbed mouse, you should also consider the so-called “French mouse” as a possible cause.

A mismatch can sometimes be eliminated by the correct adjustment of the posture climate and feeding.

On the other hand, the highly contagious virus disease (French Mauser) cannot be cured.

A veterinarian visit to this matter will help you little.

However, you should think about separating yourself from the sick bird when a virus disease is the cause of spring loss.

Because with the attitude of such an incurablely sick wave pigeon, their attitude and yourself become a “bone spin” by spreading this polyoma virus.

This makes you harm other wavers and their fellow human beings, as the viruses are very contagious for waves and also for humans.

So please act responsibly in this matter and do not take the so-called “animal protection” or general wave-sittich forums as a model.

Because there the polyoma virus is regularly bred and transferred to other stocks negligently and intentionally.

Unfortunately, this is because Albert Einstein’s famous sentence here applies:

“I know two things of which I assume that you are infinite: the stupidity of men and the extent of the universe, in the latter I am not sure.”

His feathers look pretty funny. Maybe that’s why he’s incapable of flying.

Without cock feathers, it looks bad.

Now they look right. Seems to be okay.

This can be due to many things, for example, to the wrong diet or it is simply in the mouse. Is he alone?

Yeah, that’s totally normal that they hack into each other. We’ve got over 50 waves, and that’s what happens. A common problem is that the cage is too small that should be at least 100cm long, 50 cm wide and 80 cm high for 2 wells. Shaft tracts must not be alone at all, because they are swarm animals.

I would definitely be a veterinarian with the animal who knows birds. The plumage is definitely not okay. Well, if they bit bloody, it’s better.

Have you ever been to a bird-in-law veterinarian with your wave pig? I don’t think the feather looks so great. He could only learn to fly if he had been locked up for so many years.

So it’s not because he learned it. Please let him check in with a veterinarian (very important).

Here’s a list of these veterinarians, with luck it’s not that far. We drive an hour:

Does the wing always hang like that?

Wing seems to be broken. broken wing – no flying.
