My bird is panting really badly?

Hello,

Lately my cockatiel (5) has started to raise his head, especially in the morning, and to make a quiet but clearly audible wheezing noise; it sounds as if he is gasping for air.

At first I thought it was due to the cold or the change in weather, but this wheezing has been happening more often lately, but only for about 10 minutes. Then it goes back to normal and he sounds and acts normally.

Another point is that he has very ruffled feathers, especially on his belly and wingtips. However, there are no signs of pain.

I would like to go to the vet soon and am asking for advice here. LG

The only advice attached here, as soon as possible to the vet! Not until soon. How long will you wait for the bird to be helped?

Everything else would be presumptions, and that doesn’t keep you or the bird.

I’d like to go to the veterinarian soon, I’ll get the coffee up. He would have heard the first signs. What a irresponsible effort/maintenance

Not to the vet soon, but immediately. Cloves in birds is an absolute alarm signal.

Soon? How about timely?
