My canary suddenly doesn't step on its foot anymore, what should I do?

My male canary suddenly stopped stepping on his foot/leg. He was fine three hours ago, but suddenly he stopped using his foot. He can sit on the perch, but avoids using his right foot. I don't know how this happened, as he was free-flying as usual and then started "lying down" on the perch. I also don't notice anything unusual about his foot. He's eating and drinking…

I'll go straight to the vet tomorrow, but there's no emergency vet near me.

My question is, does anyone know what it could be?

Vielleicht ist es nur wie verstaucht. Was das genau ist, kann ich dir natürlich nicht sagen, aber meine Wellensittiche hatten das früher auch schon mal, aber nie lange, nur ein paar Stunden. Vielleicht beim Landen blöd aufgekommen. Das passiert Tieren ja auch. Ich drücke die Daumen, daß es nichts schlimmes ist.
