My car has been at the garage for more than a month. What can I do?

Hello,

As described above, my car (Hyundai I20, first registered in 2010) has been at a workshop for more than a month.

My car has been there for so long because the mechanic said he couldn't get a replacement part for the first two weeks. After two weeks, I had to search for the master cylinder myself because, according to the mechanic, there was no replacement part available. So I asked Hyundai, and they gave me the part number and a price. (The guy at the repair shop couldn't even give me a part number. When I asked for one, he said he didn't know.)

Then the master cylinder finally arrived, and he installed it after about two weeks. Then he suddenly said the brake booster was also broken. Unfortunately, he didn't notice this until he installed the master cylinder.

Of course, I then searched for and ordered the brake booster myself, because the employees at the workshop couldn't manage to order it themselves…

And up to now I still don't have my car because the garage keeps saying we'll fix the car tomorrow and they tell me that every day when I call them.

Can I take legal action because I don't see the point in paying a lot for the workshop even though I had to find and buy the parts myself.

Too late. Possible costs and times are commissioned. Since the workshop has violated both, you would be free to get the car away and have it repaired in another workshop. A rental car free would be the minimum. It should be cheap. Say: Whoever has the damage does not need to worry about the spot.

Change the workshop. Definitely set deadline before, but I wouldn’t go higher than a week after the whole theatre.

This rather small car you can easily get on a not even big trailer you can hire. Very little, I paid my 30 euros a day.

The only problem is the towing vehicle. But since the car is so small and light, you don’t need a very big car here, unlike when I had to go through the number with my Mazda Xedos 6 and rent a big VW bus. It would be ideal if you could drill a slightly larger middle-class car with trailer coupling with an acquaintance.

Before contacting the guardian, ask whether he can take over the complete transport or pay anything. I don’t think so, but hey.

OR at the new workshop ask whether they can pick it up quickly, they have all the trailers or tows or any solution for that.
