Wiege doch mal etwas anderes auf der Waage, dessen Gewicht Du kennst. Eine Tüte Mehl z.B. sollte etwa 1kg wiegen (steht auch drauf). damit weißt Du, ob die Waage prinzipiell funktioniert, bzw. korrekt bedient wurde.
Da Du nicht verrätst, um welche Art von Waage es sich handelt, kann man Dir keine Tips zur bedienung geben.

Wie macht man das? Und kann man was mit den 100g anfangen? Also irgendwie ausrechnen oder so
Zu Frage 1: es mittig über den Schwerpunkt setzten
Zu Frage 2: es gibt im Internet Tabellen für die Verschiedenen Rassen/Größen, was normalgewichtig/untergewichtig/übergewichtig ist

Kaufe dir um 30 Euro eine Baby oder Tierarztwaage, die Funktionieren fix richtig
klappt nicht bei einer Küchenwaage
