Medical professionals?

Hey,

I'm currently looking for a new apprenticeship, but I can't find anything suitable for me.

I've been considering training as a medical assistant and then working in the delivery room (hospital).

But everyone wants to discourage me, because I'm supposed to earn far too little. Is that true? :/

Hello,

From my own professional experience, I can tell you: No , that's not true. In any case, you can't generalize like that.

You will most likely begin your training in a doctor's office. The salary there isn't exactly high; up until then, that's still correct. However, as an MFA, you have far more opportunities today than you did 20 years ago. For example, I now work in microbiology in a human medicine laboratory. I earn a whopping €2,000 net per month . How much you earn as an MFA depends not on the profession itself, but on the workplace where you work. It is therefore quite possible that after your training you will find a job in the maternity ward or delivery room of a hospital, where you will earn significantly more than in a doctor's office.

Even training to become a medical assistant (MFA) can be very rewarding these days. We medical assistants are no longer the idiots who just sit behind a counter on the phone and computer for a few handouts. It's funny that everyone still thinks they can judge our profession.

Best regards,

Matsi.

Don't just talk, do an internship! This applies to pretty much any training program. Try it out first to see if it's really the right fit. A nice side effect: You can perfectly explain your reasons for applying and your motivation in your applications. The internship was awesome = I want to do it as a career. Not in words, of course 😉
