Meaning of car insurance?

Good day,

Son 1 lives at home, and Son 2 lives in his own apartment in the neighboring town. The insurance policy for the second car states: "Only the policyholder and spouse living in the same household, and their children, are covered."

Can son 2 also drive the car?

If Son2 is the son of the policyholder, then yes.

Only policyholders and spouses living in the same household and their children.

If this text is in your car insurance and both are your children, yes.

And this note only applies to the group of drivers registered with your car insurance company.

Basically, anyone with a driving license can drive the car!

Yes of course.

If not, the wording should have continued.

Only policyholders and spouses living in the same household and their children living in the same household

No. "And their children" refers to the policyholder's children, in this case, the children of Son 1. Son 2 is not a child of Son 1, but a brother, and is not allowed to drive the car.

Presumably, it doesn't mean that Son1 is the policyholder. But if that were the case, you'd be right.

Anyone with a valid driver's license may drive the vehicle "occasionally." The youngest driver is always determined by whether they are a "regular user."
