How to remove mud/dirt stains from light jeans?

Hey, I sat down somewhere yesterday and now I have small "mud streaks" on my light-colored jeans. I put them straight into the washing machine, but I forgot to scrub or soak the streaks, or even take care of the stains. I've now taken them out of the finished laundry, and unfortunately, the stains are still somewhat visible. Can I get these stains completely removed after washing? (Ideally with a household remedy, but any other suggested solution is also welcome). I'm still relatively young and haven't had to deal with heavily soiled laundry very often, and the internet unfortunately hasn't quite given me the answer I was looking for, so I hope this is the right place for this question.
