At 20° C. (and 1013.25 mbar), the molar volume of gases is 24.0 L/mol.

The reaction equation is: 2 H2(g)+ 1 O2(g)->2 H2O(l); exothermic

The molecular weight of water is M(H2O)= 2×1 u +1×16 u=18 u

2 L H2(g) are therefore 2/24 mol of H2 1/24 mol O2 also 2/24 (=1/12) mol of water.

m=M×n=18 u×1/12 mol =1.5 g H2O
