Make your PC faster?
Good day,
A long time ago I bought a PC with the following components:
GPU: RX 6600
CPU: Ryzen 5 5500
RAM: 2x 8GB
Motherboard: Asus A520M
I was thinking of getting a better CPU, like the Ryzen 7 5800x, and two 16GB RAM slots.
Would that work? Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you
Hello Sascha726,
It would not hurt to completely replace the core if you really want significantly more performance. So CPU and graphics card.
You could think about a new purchase. Sell this one and then re-create.
RAM upgrade can be useful, but only if you really need more, otherwise you can’t get more.
In addition, I would not rebuild 2×16Gb, but additionally 2×8Gb from the exact same RAM you have already installed. Your board has 4 Dimm slots.
CPU moderately offers a 5700X3D.
Then you have almost free choice in the graphics card (apart from the power supply of course).

Thank you for the message.
Would it go if I got the 5700X3D and 2x 8Gb again?
The performance is enough for me that the only thing I want is that my Pc reacts faster. And not always very long shop when I have several things open.
Thank you KTM

Hmmm… That sounds more like RAM or even more likely hard drive for me!
If you do a lot of multitasking, 32Gb RAM is naturally available.
You probably have an SSD installed, right? Which one would be interesting.
Your current CPU should actually be finished when it is not too complicated (browser, Spotify, Word etc. at the same time the packs).
Very happy! If I can still be helpful, please report!
Thank you very much.
But in any case! A SSD makes a difference like day and night!
It’ll be your problem.
The board supports both SATA SSDs and an NVMe SSD.
For both, I’d have something for you.

The NVMe is much faster on the paper, but a SATA SSD would also help you.
The NVMe, which is simply placed directly on the board, is increasingly simple.
I think it would be the better overall package.
No, I haven’t installed SSD. I don’t know that well, but I have such an old, thick hard drive.
Would it be smarter to install a SSD? I don’t even know if I can add a SSD to my motherboard.
If you can recommend me?
Thank you
