Make character traits clear?
I'm currently writing a fantasy novel. I want one character to be very humorous and quick-witted. I sometimes exhibit this behavior in everyday life, but I don't know how to incorporate it into my story without it coming across as stupid, childish, etc.
Now I'm wondering how I can best implement this? Do any of you have experience or tips that could help me?
Well, by bringing it into history about your character.
How is someone who is humorous and ready to beat? In what situations could this possibly come to bear? Does he stop the others with any sayings? Does he possibly comment on the teacher when he says what and makes the whole class laugh?
If it comes to conflicts and disputes, then the person will probably be someone who is never lying about an answer and always has what to say, or not?
He won’t just retreat if the long Boris from the parallel class demands that the 9c in the break clear the basketball court for him and his boys, right?
In other words… it’s just two qualities that you can actually braid very well, of course I don’t know the full character, which is why I can create a complete scene.
If the person is someone who actually speaks constantly, and if necessary also like to talk about head and collar, or to his rather sloppy fellow fighters a little bit on the nerves?
Or is it someone who is more bitter and sarcastic towards the outside when it comes to stroke and then, if necessary, is very upset about people he trusts?
Thanks for the tips BeviBaby. Of the two options, he is definitely the second. The main character gets to know him in a difficult situation, so he needs to trust her immediately. Also after that they remain well friends and the main character is his humor. Since he has trusted her from the beginning, she has never met his other since and later is very shocked and surprised in history when she notices this.
Try yourself to be humorous and ready to beat and then put it on the character. Then you know how it is and can make it more binding.
