Mad Ryzen 9 5000series still good?

I want to replace my CPU with a new one. I'm considering buying an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x, but it's not as current anymore, and there are better ones in the price range. Do you have any other suggestions? The GPU, by the way, is supposed to be an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Hello,

upgrading an existing AM4 system is still worth it. The Ryzen 7 5700x3D is the best choice for gaming. In gaming it is much stronger than the Ryzen 9 5900x/5950x

Yes

The 5800x3d is a bit better for gaming, but costs almost twice.
