Does this step make sense in therapy?

Hello

I've been seeing a therapist for a few months now because of my social anxiety. But so far, I haven't noticed any difference. I don't feel like working yet. But yesterday she told me I should see a worker at the job center about getting a job. (I'm already registered with the job center but on sick leave because, as I said, I can't work). I feel completely blindsided, since I started therapy specifically to get rid of the phobia in the first place. Does what my therapist is saying even make sense?

Find that makes sense.

I don’t want to work.

I don’t think it’s wrong that despite your fears, you’ll also set it up. This is not too much comfort zone.
Sure, many jobs aren’t your thing because the contact with people shouldn’t overwhelm you again.

But I think it would also be a wrong idea of therapy to believe that you go there a few times and then the Phobie just flies.

The other thing I notice and what’s a good exercise: talk to your therapist. So tell her that: I felt overwhelmed? What is the thought of you? I want to understand.

In the case of social phobia, confrontation can often help, the person is targeted at the fears.

Calls confrontation therapy. You can’t go to work because you’re restricted, but because you’re afraid of the reviews of others, which is the main feature of a social phobia. And there often helps confrontation
