MacBook recovery with unknown activation lock?

Hello 🙋🏼‍♀️

I'm very desperate. I bought a used MacBook Air (Intel) a year or two ago. I've barely used it, and when I did, it was only for typing for my studies. That's why I never noticed that there was an activation lock on it from the previous owner. Now I wanted to download something and had to erase the hard drive to free up space. I did. Now I have a folder with question marks, and with a key combination I can access the activation. Of course, the email from the previous owner is censored.
When I contacted "let's fix it," they told me there's nothing they can do. (I don't have the old address because Classifieds deleted the messages.) There has to be a solution so I can use my Mac again!

I would be very grateful for any help, people who can do this for me, or even !really! good places I can go!

There is an Apple Support page where you can remove Activation Locks: https://al-support.apple.com/

However, you need proof that the device really belongs to you. Has worked with me with purchase receipt and matching credit card billing without any problems. In my case, I had given an iPhone – as a temporary emergency solution – and the person then forgot the account data.

I believe in older devices you can partially bypass the Activation Lock, but not 100% safe. It is possible that it is relatively expensive.

Is a problem with used Apple devices, which is why it is difficult to buy without invoice. Often stolen devices are also sold.

I honestly don’t know, I think you need a purchase document.

How did you use the Mac in the beginning? Wasn’t he set back?

If you were logged in to iCloud on Mac at “Where’s?” he would have to be officially part of your account if I’m properly informed.

Mhh, if you have the Mac in Where, the Activation Lock should be on your account, not on the previous owner.

I think a lot will not be possible if you bought it in an Apple Store with a proof.

You made a contract with the previous owner, didn’t you? And got the original bill from the previous owner, right?
To get to the next Apple shop and ask for help.

There must be a solution that I can use my Mac again!

I have already described the same problem

So, Apple believes that by using any component of a computer only for exactly one computer, Apple does not help to make theft so attractive.

What they didn’t notice is that even if there is a Otto normal thief with its 4 brain cells, it doesn’t get so much to crack that the guy on the black market simply finds a guy who knows just as little about Apple’s security systems and who just buys the deshlab. Or he sells it to someone who knows how to handle it and sell it for parts.

So yes, in the best case you have a document and the owner can easily dissolve it yourself in the worst case, in the worst case you bought a stolen device.

Activation locks certainly lower the value of such devices. For example, users try to send phishing SMS to the emergency contacts for iPhones to get to the code. Otherwise, the thing is as much value as the spare parts.

Yes, this is the activation lock, this can only remove the owner with the Apple Account data. Otherwise you can unblock it with the original invoice from the purchase at Apple.
It’s not different.

Except for Mac models with T2 and Intel chip, there is a possibility to bypass the lock with a bypass, as all models with this chip have a security gap.
