m2 SSD not performing well enough?
hi, I bought a crucial ssd
It is advertised with up to 6000 MB read and write performance, but I only get 300 MBs
The SSD is in the M2.2 slot because the M2.1 slot is very difficult to access. Could that be the reason?
but that doesn't make a 5700 mb/s difference
Hello bigTs,
How do you even measure that?
Depending on the benchmark, the result can be different.
In actual everyday applications, it does not create 6000Mb/s. That’s the only way they can read sequentially. Random Reads are, however, what is usually asked by an SSD and they are much slower.

Depending on what your mainboard can, it’s possible that your 2.2 is as limited
we have nen b550m riptide
There is no 300Mb/s M.2 interface.
Would be slower than SATA
Sata2 can 300 but the m.2 is sata3 which would have to be up to 600 but who knows if they don’t share the whole with a sataport.
I think it’s a PCIe SSD.
It does not work via SATA connection.
If there are problems with the quantity of SATA ports, some of them would be automatically disabled.
