Always depends on history. Nevertheless, I must say that I always like it very much if there is also a love story in a fantasy book. Mostly readers are happy about it and it also brings some extra tension into history. Of course, at the end of your decision:)))
It always depends on the story whether a love story belongs in or not. In my fantasy-Roman, I’m a fool, but I haven’t developed it because there are more urgent things in this world.
Well, it doesn’t have to be so obvious. You can also just suggest this and then the reader can guess if there is really something. It should just fit into history and distract from nothing else important.
For me, yes. But if it is a very good book, it is not absolutely necessary. I like Lovestory because then there is more tension
