Is it worth buying a vehicle with an employee discount?
I'm struggling with the idea of buying a vehicle with a discount for employees of the brand. The vehicle costs around €63,000 on the market. But for employees of the industry, the vehicle is €11,000 cheaper, at around €52,000. So, is it worth getting the vehicle even though it's only one year old (registered in 2023)? Since the vehicle loses 50% of its value in three years anyway, is it a waste of money? This model isn't that common anymore and is no longer being built, and I personally think it's very nice.

11000 estates are only 17.5% on the official sales price. If you buy a new car, you may also get a discount. However, it is a one-year storage vehicle.
I worked with an importer in Switzerland. We had a new car discount of 22% on actual new cars. In the year we were allowed to buy two new cars for ourselves or the relationship.
I have always bought either sports cars or other new attractive models, of which I have known that the next two years will certainly threaten long delivery times. I have never bought a special color, but mostly red, because most buyers can live with a sporty vehicle. After a year, such cars mostly returned the purchase price. Tires I never had to replace, service never existed. The buyer continued to benefit from the factory guarantee and he had the car immediately.
Or I bought pure beinhart commercial vehicles. Delivery and off-road vehicles. I first asked the sales director what models he would like to get rid of. For example, such in a “unskilled” painting or without servo steering etc. There was then a lot of extra discount. It could be up to 35%.
That’s where the commercial buyers crack after a year. Just retracted and no scratches on the loading bridge. I even earned on such vehicles and the one or the other buyer came back after years to see if I could offer something like that again. However, it is not for everyone to drive a seven-metre long double cabin with a long bridge in everyday life.

It is better to buy cars that have as great a motorization as possible and especially a V8 under the hood at Mercedes.
These are not only price-stable, it is possible that such cars will increase significantly in value in the future
No one really needs a car in this price class.
You get more than good cars for less than 10,000 euros. In any case, it is a waste of money if you want to drive it rainy.

I’ll say that.
Even if a Rolls Royce would have been reduced by 50% for me with a new price of 500,000 euros, it would not be worthwhile because I could not afford it to me 😀
You need to know if it’s worth it. Only very few vehicles serve as an investment, the rest only loses in value.
If this vehicle is worth 52,000 euros, get it.
