Live cheaply by the sea?
My question is where one can live cheaply by the sea (with a sea view). Preferably some kind of beach house near the equator.
I want to retire for a few months, but I only have up to 10,000 available.
Can anyone help me with this?
What are two months? Others don’t get any more and also pay rent and everything for the family…
What you mean is https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equator = the crosses only 13 states…
…to live there will not be the problem, more the travel costs and more. Your claims…
So equator didn’t mean that exactly, rather the climate.
Question remains the same: what do you expect? 5 ⭐s no more than Diogenes’ ton?
But then the choice depends on the money…
… both the country and the type of accommodation…
In a Vavela on the outskirts of Rios you will hardly need money – but is not sure…
actually that wasn’t my question either, wanted to know if someone knows places on the beach that are not too expensive. Money is second thing. It doesn’t have to be fixed. Also have a second income that simplifies everything
“Paar months” are what? 2, 4, 6?…
then guess what you can plan for a day like this (forward/backward) and how realistic this can be…
100 days x 100 EUR can already come when you swim yourself;o)
Something nice but not 5 stars, so 3-4.
I’ve known 159 countries.
I miss some, especially in Africa. I could imagine that it would have to be very inexpensive in some coastal areas. I don’t know any details about security. Wherever possible is Equatorial Guinea. But you must be able to speak Spanish well there.
Sri Lanka and Thailand were mentioned here. They’re not as cheap as they were a few years ago.
Philippines, off the tourist centers would certainly be a good idea.
Thank you for your answer
You know the appropriate locations in the Phillipines. It’s hard to find this place.
It is not really very difficult, only confusing as there are so many islands and islets. (I have visited 64 of the Philipin Islands so far) For a beginner, I would recommend either Boracay for the first month, or alona (at Bohol) are even more expensive, but you can more easily acclimate. (In any case, avoid Angeles or Cebu and surroundings. That’s for a fool! And after that, if you get along well with the Pinoys, Mindoro or the province of Bicol would be a good idea to stay longer. Bicol is my personal favorite, also because of food, landscape and people there. These are just a few ideas. The possibilities are endless. And for health insurance. I have a comprehensive health insurance from Singapore, which costs me 80 a month (OHNE own share from 100 dollars) But in the Philippines there are also private health insurance.)
All outside the European Union has the problem with health insurance, which can be very expensive in this case.
I’ve been permanently retired at 30 years and I’m also thinking about whether to emigrate. But the problem with health insurance can meet everyone, because you don’t know what the future brings. That is why I am afraid to leave the European Union.
Currently, many hike to Bulgaria to the Gold Coast. Rents are about two thirds cheaper and food is about halfway cheaper. This makes it easy to live with a small budget.
There is also no problem with health insurance, as Bulgaria is in the European Union.
The weather is also a bit better, as it is clearly southerly and with a little search you get a good apartment right by the sea for relatively few money.
as it looks, you know yourself well with the trip. I just finished my teaching in a few months and I thought that such a timeout would be good for me, because I don’t even know where to go with my life. Would you think this is a good idea to be a few months on such an island or islands. I have a little experience and it’s hard to guess. Or do you know better alternatives or options? Or is it a stupid idea alone? Because I’ve never traveled alone.
thanks for the answer has helped me very much
Switzerland is outside the European Union. I thought you were living in Germany or Austria, which is both part of the EU. You have to inquire with a Swiss medical expert.
The Germans have been very often straight, not to emigrate outside the European Union, as this can become a real debt trap. That’s why I hate it, but I’m not a specialist in this. Here you have to inquire elsewhere.
Bulgaria really sounds great. But is it the same in Switzerland as for health insurance?
So with 10,000€ you have good opportunities in Thailand for a couple of months, and I would find Vietnam more interesting.
With 10 000 you can spend up to half a year in most tropical countries. But Vietnam is one of the few countries where I have had very bad experiences. I have been in 159 countries so far, but so far I have only been “flighted” from three countries and one of them was Vietnam.
Thailand is one of my favorites, but not forever. But that’s a personal problem, because I just don’t understand the language.
I see they’re tour guides in South America. Which country would be the first to recommend? (Other Brazil)
I always found Argentina interesting
A good alternative would be Costa Rica. that is not in South America, but Central America. But they also speak Spanish and have a very high quality of life in a very interesting country.
There are only 13 countries in South America. And at the moment the situation is not ideal for political reasons. There are also travel restrictions especially in Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru. Usually my favorite country is Ecuador, followed by Colombia. At the moment the most recommended is Uruquay. but this has the fewest atractions of all countries in South America.
Sri Lanka
Thailand
