Find a defective cell in a lithium battery?

Hello folks,

I have a new 48V lithium-ion 13S4P battery pack with BMS, but I suspect that at least one cell is dead. Since the voltage is only 46.2 volts despite being fully charged, is there a way to identify the defective cell or at least narrow down the problem without separating the cells?

Thank you for your help

Measure each cell with a voltmeter in the stack. You don’t have to disassemble it, but just release the lines. Of course, you shouldn’t make a short circuit when measuring.

Btw in the pack are when then 8 cells are higher than the voltage you write corresponds to an 11s battery.

So 2s less and at 4p 8 cells must be discharged to 0V.

And clearly under the charging voltage. 3.5V is more bearing voltage at LiIon.

Maybe. Which cells are installed?
