Less ping possible with VPS?

Hello, I need to connect to a VPS to achieve a very low ping. It's currently around 38, but it needs to be 1-2 ms. I'm in Germany, and the servers are in London.

I don't know anything about technology, but would that theoretically be possible?

No, that’s physically impossible. In 1 millisecond the light returns a distance of 300km. The connection from you to the server must not be more than 300km. London is definitely further away, so it is absolutely impossible.

Shouldn’t that be 300,000Km/second?

That’s what I wrote.

That’s absolutely correct, I’ve never seen it in MS (which makes sense here) and just read it wrong xD

Hey,

1-2ms are technically almost never possible to the 10ms are already very good.

In addition, again the question of what exactly your plan is. Should your VPS have as little ping as possible to the target server or you?

If your VPS is to have such a small ping, it would have to be very close to the target server or ideally in the same data center.

If you’re trying to achieve such a small ping, you’ve got a mistake. The ping from the VPS to the target server is lower, but you still have to add the ping you have to the VPS. Directing your traffic via the VPS usually increases your ping to the target server only in comparison to a direct connection.

You don’t get a better ping from your home to the target server, whatever you want to turn in between.

The best is to continue using a direct connection. Your latency can’t be less if there’s more in between.

Yes, that would be possible, then you have a lower ping from the remote desktop to the target server.

ABER: You have to add your ping from your home to the remote desktop again, that will be more than you now have a direct connection.

No, it’s not. Everything you pack in between will not increase your ping, will not be possible.

you can then reach a very low ping from vps to the server in London. but also there is 1-2ms as unrealistic, rather ~5ms.

But if you build a detour from your network at home to get to the server, the ping will probably be worse than better.

what is that for a server and what are you supposed to do with it requiring such a low ping?

HAllo,

the fastest is an optical waveguide with 300km/s so it is not technically feasible

I don’t quite understand what you mean.

For example, if you want to achieve a low ping in CoD, this is definitely not possible from the logic, because your connection is sent first from you to London and then to the CoD server, the connection and delay is longer than if it goes directly to the CoD server.

You mean vpn?

When you connect to server in london, your ping will always be relatively jack
