Left ear closed, can I use a LOUD headset?

I have a tamponade in my left ear, so I can barely hear anything in that ear. Is it okay if I turn the volume on my headphones up VERY loud for my left ear only (it will sound normal because of the tamponade), or will that damage my ear?

I wouldn't let it happen. I don't know if it would hurt.
