Have your leased car painted?

Hi everyone, I recently hit the front bumper of my car in the underground parking garage. However, the car is leased. What should I do now? Should I paint it myself? Should I leave the damage and pay for it when I return it? Or should I report it to my insurance company? What do you think?

The independent repair of small paint damage to a leasing vehicle is theoretically possible.

I am driving leasing vehicles myself and then proceeding as follows.

I contact the leasing provider and inform me about the current guidelines.

I try to order a workshop or smart-repair service provider to resolve the damage (important with invoice).

Photographer the damage before and after repair to have proof during return.

The independent improvement involves the risk that additional costs can still be incurred in return. Until now, there have never been any problems.

as you have to do, is also in the leasing contract. So read the contract.

most often it is:

Report damage and pay for it. They usually allow to repair it in one of their prescribed workshops.

You must definitely vote with the leasing company. Otherwise you can pay it again when you return.
