Latex as a contraceptive?

My name is Hannelore and I'm 17 years old. My question might sound a bit strange, but I still hope for serious answers.
My boyfriend wanted to come over in about two hours, and our plan was to get a little closer again, if you know what I mean. The only problem is that I'm out of condoms and I'm not on the pill either. I actually wanted to get some, but I live in a village and it would take over an hour by train.
Now to my question: One of my passions, which I've been pursuing for several years, is making rubber masks and other things out of latex. (I mostly do this for cosplay.) Do you think I can make a condom out of latex myself? I mean, it's just rubber, after all.
