You say a battery lives the longest when it is always kept at 80-90%.

With Lenovo’s newer thinkpads, I wouldn’t worry much, even if it’s loaded permanently.

I also have a Lenovo that permanently hangs on the monitor via USB-C (image + charging simultaneously). Since 2020, the device has been almost permanent. If I get him somewhere else, I can’t feel any harm.

You can also adjust to where a battery charges maximum. At least under KDE this is very simple. This then increases the durability.

I got it on my Mac. For 1 year I have the part and the state is still 99%

If you expand the battery, then yes, if not, you should leave it because the battery suffers massively when it is permanently connected.

But wait…

64 GB of RAM?

What for?

I am a dual student in software development. We need so much RAM here.

Oh, okay.

That’s a lot…

My PC has “only” 32GB…

But if you find a software that keeps the battery charging to 80% and that works, it would be less bad.

If not, make the battery better or live just so that it will soon have no capacity.

My service laptop and my private are also connected around the clock. So far without problems.

Doesn’t he have a battery? But always on the power should also go if it has a self-switchable charging machine.

Of course, the battery has, but functions like a PC, because it is only on the work currently.

At some point, the battery is scrap. And then you need a new one

You don’t have to shorten it with a durable charge
