Laptop CPU never fully utilized?

Hello folks.

Another problem with my laptop.

Basically the laptop is very slow and always lags behind, which is annoying in itself.

However, I noticed when I had the Task Manager open that even during a benchmark test the CPU usage only goes up to 20% and then stops.

Likewise the speed is stuck at a mere 0.39GHz even though the CPU has a base speed of 1.99GHz according to the text.

But it can never reach that because it throttles at, let's say, 20 percent so it can't go any higher.

I guess that's why the laptop is so slow.

Here are the data of the laptop

CPU: Core I7 8550u

HP Elitebox 850 G5

My question is, can I change any limit or whatever so that the CPU at least works at its full capacity again?

I’d say she’s getting too hot and that’s why she shoots or that she gets into a limit she’s pushing. It could, of course, also be defective. But in principle, the processor is also garbage.

Let HWinfo run down while the benchmark see if it comes to a limit and monitor Temp with it.

I just think the thing is through, which is not worth it, maybe a new installation of Windows can do well, but that’s not worth it.

If he doesn’t have a power limit, temp limit, otherwise what’s going on, but probably just singlecore.

Well, working with office and browser does not have to work with more performance. Here the load is sometimes normal, on my pc not even 5% power is required. The CPU in this thing is unfortunately just Ur slow, the U behind your processor is already the problem, because it stands for little power and usually the dual cores.

Yes, it’s a possibility, but it gets hotter. Throttled at a certain temp. I’d guess you’d be more modern. It’s just not meant to shock.

When it comes to charging cables, it gives less power via battery.
