Can you drive an agricultural trailer with an air brake with a class L vehicle?
Hello everyone,
I have a Class L driver's license and wanted to ask if anyone knows whether you're allowed to drive trailers with air brakes. My driving school book only states that the tractor can only drive at 40 km/h, and you can drive with a trailer at 25 km/h. I'm also interested in whether you're only allowed to drive trailers that don't require a license, or whether you can also drive a licensed 40 km/h trailer (only at 25 km/h, of course, but the question is whether you're generally allowed to drive it on public roads).
Under these circumstances, would it be permissible to drive a Fendt 724 vario (40 km/h) with an 18-ton tipper (25 km/h registration) and a total top speed of the vehicle combination of 25 km/h, or would the driving licence not be sufficient for this (the vehicle is used for agricultural purposes)?
I've been searching for a long time, but I can't seem to find any meaningful answers on the internet, so it would be great if one of you knew something about it.
With this in mind: thank you in advance and best regards,
