L17 driving license abroad?

Hello,

I've booked a vacation to Croatia with three friends in August. The actual driver can't go due to an accident. I have an L17 license and am allowed to drive alone in Austria. Am I allowed to drive through Slovenia and Croatia as well? How likely is it that a police officer will check whether I'm old enough during a border check, and what would the penalties be?

there it would be driving without a valid driving license.

Outside Austria According to the state of knowledge of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobiltitä, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the L17 license is only recognized in Germany, England, Northern Ireland and Denmark. That means that before the 18th. birthday can only be driven in Austria and in these four countries. From the 18th birthday, the L17 license can be used in Austria and abroad. Outside the EEA However, under certain circumstances – as with all steering permissions – one must English translation of the Austrian driving license or international driving license to be carried along.
