How to get a temporary license plate without a vehicle registration document?
Good day,
I'd like to view a car on Thursday, test drive it, and, if everything is OK, transport it to Berlin. I need a temporary/transfer license plate for this, as the car has already been deregistered.
I've read that I need the vehicle registration document/title to apply. However, since I'm a potential buyer and the journey is 400km, I need the license plate number first.
The seller refuses to apply for the license plate, saying I could get it myself from my local registration office. Is this correct, and how does this process work?
