Of course I can recommend driving to Austria in the Alps, think Salzburg would be the closest from you. Bad Gastein, Saalbach Hinterglemm, Zell am See, … are all very nice places in the middle of the beautiful Alps to make some good hikes.

On this basis you cannot recommend much. Mountains are partly very difficult terrain. Some people are looking for that, others are overwhelmed with it. Therefore, it would be very good for recommendations to have some more information about your experience.

Generally, I can recommend the area around Innsbruck because I live there myself. Tyrol also has some lakes. As far as hiking is concerned, you will find all possible tours from cozy rides with cable car support to some of the most extreme climbs in the Alps. In Innsbruck, Schwaz, Hall i.T. you can also find out what you want to see. Or rub off any castles in the Inntal.

Nuts I’m still on the list. A lot of lakes, all easily accessible and you can also arrive by train.

Tegelberg, Säuling, Bleckenau(travel n bus), Castles. For 4 days almost harm 😛

For only 3-4 days it would be very interesting to know from where to go, because then the trip should not be too long.
