I think it’s better to cut it. You would have to put the tape on the base material and then cut it somehow.

What we used to do often was to create our own PCBs easily. For this purpose, we printed the layout on a transparent film and then exposed the PCB with UV, developed with dilute sodium hydroxide solution and etched with iron(III) chloride.

With the cheap PCB prices from China, however, we have largely stopped. Now only is done if we need the PCB very quickly.

This sounds very “waky”. The adhesive is rather intended to derive static charges and not for larger currents.

Maybe better than “dead bug” completely without PCB:

Alternatively, there are also pins with silver-containing “conductive ink”, with which PCBs can be simply “painted”. It’s not quite cheap.

In this case the copper and not the glue would guide.
