"Manipulate" fake blood?

I'm currently preparing a biology lesson for the other students. I've chosen the topic of blood.
I already have a rough lesson plan, but there is one thing I would like to know beforehand:
We have artificial blood from Schlüter Biologie in our biology collection, originally used for blood type identification. Since you can also see blood cells there, I wanted to know how you could possibly manipulate them, for example, to stage drug use. Are there specific chemicals you could use for this? I read somewhere that vitamin C powder, for example, might work.

I doubt that one can recognize drug use in the blood cells. Apart from that, manipulating a drug test could be for example by using poppy seeds. These would be recognized as opium or morphine in the drug test
Yes, you can recognize drug use in the red blood cells. When cocaine or grass are consumed, the red blood cells swell. Since I wanted to stage it anyway, I asked for a suitable chemical:P

When it comes to swelling, you can simply add distilled water. By osmosis this then diffuses into the blood cells and lets them swell
